Five years ago I completed my master's of science in biology, studying the impacts of phosphorus in water on wetland plants.
It was loads of fun and I learned a lot, but my science career really wasn't taking me in the direction I wanted. So, a year after graduating I quit
my entry level science job and started learning programming and web development to switch into the tech field.
I am currently working as the VP of Engineering at an AI-powered start-up based in Waterloo, Ontario. Being as it is a small start-up,
I wear many hats and have many roles and responsibilities. I get to see the entire lifecycle of the product - from talking to customers and recieving feedback,
to taking part in high-level discussions about requested features and user experience and finally, overseeing the development team.
I enjoy providing good, clean code that other developers can use easily. I think good code is something that even someone who can't program should be able to read
and get a good sense of what is going on.
On a personal note, I love pretty much any form of adventure! I like to go backpacking, camping, biking and train in muay thai. I also like both playing and
making video games!
Summatti is a one-stop shop for big businesses to bring their data to one place and get additional insights from AI and
machine learning that they can't get anywhere else. As the VP of Engineering at Summatti, I helped develop this product from its inception to being deployed
with international businesses with billions of revenue.
Summatti provided excellent value to our customers because of the way we recieved feedback and converted that into amazing new features. We integrated with
a variety of communication software and put all their data into one place for their ease of use. Summatti was built using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React and Node).
The purpose of this LIMS was to
allow field technicians to input sample collection data in real time, alerting lab technicians that there was incoming soil and concrete samples.
It saved the company thousands of dollars per month, reduced errors, and increased the speed of their process by a factor of ten. We developed the application
using vanilla Javascript, HTML, CSS, and PHP with a mySQL database.
Amazon Price Compare is a convenient tool developed by MicroFluence that allows you to compare prices on Amazon across different countries so you can get the best deals!
The Personality AI is another project being worked on by MicroFluence where you can input your social media accounts and it will examine them using the IBM Watson AI. The artificial intelligence will then give you a score based off of your profile and that will be extrapolated into a social media personality.
